New pre-release of Signal Chain Explorer V 0.968
This update adds the ability to specify other waveforms for HFI and EFI gargoyles (aka interferers) besides the default sine waves. You can now specify square waves, trapezoid waves, rectified sines, impulses, etc. This new specification is not fully implemented in that we still only compute the gargoyles at their primary frequencies (ie. 1 / period of wave). Someday we’ll take the shape of the wave and compute the interference at harmonic frequencies as well. But that day is not today.
Instead, we have the following … er … “baby step”: A new field has been added for each gargoyle where you specify the maximum slew rate for that gargoyle. Before, the slew rates were auto-calculated based on assuming the waveforms were sine waves at the given frequencies. This latest change makes our interference calculations a bit more sophisticated in that the slew rates are independent of the primary frequencies.
Along with this change, we’ve added a new high level dialog box (under the main Utilities menu) that helps you compute reasonable slew rates, given the amplitude and frequency of your gargoyles.
Anyway, check out the new version on the downloads page.
