Upgrades to the Sensor Stages in Signal Chain Explorer: Explains the various types of generic sensor stages and how they can be used to model real sensors.

Understanding SCE Thermal Noise Charts This article explains the math behind the thermal noise charts, and how to interpret the stacked nature of the graphs, and the root-sum-squaring of the noise data.

SWE Lesson Examples

Lesson 1.1. Sine Wave Low Pass Example: The first intro lesson for Signal Wave Explorer illustrating the low pass filtering of a sine wave. Shows how this can be simulated in SWE. Provides basic equations for low pass filter, and gives a first glimpse of how SWE does Discrete Fourier Transform processing for its simulations.

Lesson 1.2. Trapezoid Low Pass Example: The second lesson for Signal Wave Explorer illustrating the low pass filtering of a trapezoid. We take a closer look at capacitors, and derive the capacitor impedance formula. We derive the classic exponential behavior of a low pass filter using Laplace Transforms. We simulate the response in SWE, and confirm its accuracy. We show you how to think of filtering in the frequency domain, and show how the unique sampling-range overlay on SWE Bode charts leads to insights about all this.
